About Michael

I am a 1992 graduate of the Biomedical Visualization program at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and have been a freelance medical illustrator ever since. I started teaching for MATC in the Animation program at DTEC (Design and Color I), then moved to TRUAX in 2006 to teach Color Media, which I continue to teach to this day. I have become interested, in recent years, in the children’s book illustration market, and I have one picture book published to date (MOON OVER THE MOUNTAIN, 2009, Raven Tree Press) and one as-yet unpublished book picture book (ROGUE’S ALPHABET) which won the bronze medal for children’s illustration in the 3X3 Show in 2007. My anamorphic mural welcomed visitors to the Illusions Near and Far exhibition at the Milwaukee Art Museum from October 2013 through August 2014.
