Valentine Pop-Up Sale

On behalf of all the students who have worked hard over the last few weeks on Valentines, we’d like to invite you to shop the Center for Printing Arts’ Valentine Pop-up Sale this Weds & Thursday, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM in the hallway near the bookstore. There will over 15 different Valentine card designs to choose from, Valentine prints, and on Thursday, an opportunity to letterpress print your VERY OWN Valentine. See the attached poster and images for a preview of some of the work.

The proceeds go to help cover printing materials costs so students can keep making cool stuff and gaining entrepreneurial experience.

Welcome Courtney!

We are thrilled to welcome Courtney Dicmas as our newest faculty member in the Graphic Design and Illustration Program.

Courtney is the author and illustrator of four new picture books: The Great Googly Moogly, Lemur Dreamer, Home Tweet Home and Harold Finds a Voice (recently shortlisted for the 2014 Waterstone’s Children’s Book Prize).   She comes to us from the Cambridge School of Art, in England, where she taught part-time on the BA Illustration and MA Children’s Book Illustration programs.  She does her best work for Child’s Play International (UK), Templar Publishing (UK), and Doubleday Books (USA), at a wooden desk named Henry, overlooking the snowy pine trees of East Madison, with a snuffling spaniel, Charlie, at her feet.

Courtney will be teaching Drawing Fundamentals and Concept Development this semester. If you are not lucky enough to have her as an instructor, please introduce yourself!
